Obstacles to Learning Languages
In the short amount of time I've been studying and writing project code I've come to realize that there are several distinct obstacles to learning coding languages that I've encountered and am curious how widespread these obstacles might be. Here they are, in no particular order: Knowledge retention - I have always been a voracious reader and so encountering this massive amount of information has not really been that daunting. I understand what I'm reading just fine, it's retaining this information that's been somewhat bothersome. I fully grasp the basics behind HTML and CSS and understand the nature of these co-dependent languages...however, when it comes to pairing my coding intentions with the language terminology I find myself constantly having to check my resources. Is this normal in the beginning? Is this something that disappears over time or do even experienced coders find themselves looking things up from time to time? Time spent studying ...
